Ammoniumthiocyanaat is een hulpgrondstof voor de productie van waterstofperoxide.Gebruikt als polymerisatiekatalysator voor kleurstoffen en organische synthese.Gebruikt bij de scheiding van pesticiden, antibiotica, analytische reagentia enzovoort.Het is ook de grondstof voor de productie van cyanide, ferricyanide en thioureum.Wordt ook gebruikt voor zinkcoating, druk- en verfdiffusiemiddel, galvaniseeradditieven.
